Pin, Pin, and then Pin a little more...

You gotta use pins! It's a must. There are very few garments that I monogram that have zero pins somewhere in them while the machine is going.
I hoop almost everything I do, and the smaller the garment, the harder it tends to be to keep the fabric out of the way of your stitching area. Pins make all the difference. Pin the sleeves back, pin the neckline back, pin the body of the shirt to one side or the other....get the picture? Trust me. After numerous failed attempts....pinning makes all the difference. Happy Pinning!
Made these cute little pants to go with this outfit for a customer. Little Camden looked adorable walking around the pumpkin patch in his little outfit. Message me if you ever want some matching pants. These pants are extremely simple to make. I'll post the pattern I use in another post. Matchy Matchy is the thing these days. And personally....I think "the thing" is adorable!

Frugality at it's finest!

I've been staying very busy lately with orders coming in. I'm loving this because everyone's orders are complete different which is allowing me to use lots of my new appliques. I love to stitch a brand new design because I learn something from every.single.one. One thing I've learned from this whole process is that it does not take much fabric for a single design at all. I usually buy in 1/4 of a yard increments, and have plenty of fabric to do multiple (and I mean, MULTIPLE) designs! Less money spent = more profit made! :) Being frugal with supplies is how you make more money. Keep that in mind!

On your mark, get set, SEW!

I've decided to start a new sewing website. Any tips and tricks I learn along the way, I plan to share on this blog. I've had lots of people ask questions like "how I learned" or "did I teach myself", "what machine do I need to buy" or "is it hard to sew"? I'd love to delve into these questions and answer them with the knowledge I've either taught myself or the knowledge my mother taught me about sewing. Here goes nothing...
